Pattern reference sheet

Have made a reference sheet which I have found useful in revising which leg goes back and number of movements. Hope you also find useful. I am not 100% about the Korean starting positions in the later patterns so could be incorrect. Let me know if there is something I have missed.

Hi
Just a quick question - for the side piercing kick, does the kicking leg start to extend only after the hips have rotated into position, or does it happen at the same time - as one continuous movement?

Hi

Does anyone have suggestions on how to execute the following move for Do-San?

7.Twist the right knife-hand together with the body counter clockwise until its palm faces downward and then move the left foot to D, turning counter clockwise to form a left walking stance toward D while executing a high side strike to D with the left back fist.

My balance is not great when doing the turn and I battle to get into the right end position - left walking stance and high side strike. ...

Hi

I need some help with the side piercing kick (getting the foot to turn down) and turning kick (foot horizontal). I'm battling to get my foot placement correct for both. If I kick against an object it improves but the moment I practice freely as for the grading, I struggle to get the foot turned down or horizontal. I'm not sure if my stance is the problem. Where should the tension be felt the most - hamstrings or quads?

Any suggestions?

take care

Hello Everyone!

Here's one to start things off !

My brother and I have a question about the pattern diagram of Ko-Dang tul:

When looking through the encyclopedia at the pattern diagrams, particularly those of the black belt patterns, we noticed that most start on the A - B parallel. We then noticed that some, for example pattern Ul-Gi, start on the E - F parallel, which is 'in front' of the A - B. We assumed that this was because during the pattern you would work your way back towards ...
